Charters and Tours

Many of the restored Sydney Heritage Fleet vessels operate cruises or are available for charter. They are suitable for corporate and private functions such as weddings, birthdays and other events.

1. James Craig

1874 barque James Craig

The barque James Craig offers the sailing experience of a lifetime: cruising on the open ocean under sail on a 19th century square-rigger.

The James Craig usually sails at weekends, either on Saturday or Sunday. These cruises are open to the public and small groups. The vessel carries 80 passengers. For dates of these scheduled public day sails on James Craig, and links for more information and bookings, see What's On When.

She is also available for charter; either for a cruise on the open sea under sail, under power in Sydney Harbour or simply tied up alongside her berth. James Craig can carry up to 200 passengers within the harbour. The vessel is normally berthed at the Wharf 7 Maritime Heritage Centre, Pirrama Road, Pyrmont (on the western side of Darling Harbour). 2. Lady Hopetoun

1902 VIP steam launch Lady Hopetoun

The VIP steam launch Lady Hopetoun is available for charter between 10:00am and 10:00pm on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. She carries 27 passengers on four-hour cruises of Sydney Harbour.

3. Waratah

1902 steam tug Waratah

The steam tug Waratah is available for charter between 10:00am and 10:00pm on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. She carries 49 passengers on four-hour cruises of Sydney Harbour.

Sydney Heritage Fleet is a museum that preserves maritime history. The Fleet's 600 volunteers work not only on restoration, but crew the unique operational heritage vessels. On offer are Sydney Harbour Tall Ship day sails, charters on Sydney Harbour, Sydney Harbour Secret Tours, Fish 'n' Ship Tours, scout sleepovers, Private and Corporate Events, Charters, cruises and Weddings aboard James Craig (1874), Lady Hopetoun (1902), Waratah (1902), Boomerang (1903), Protex (1908) and Harman (1947). Our current major restoration project is the steamer John Oxley (1927).
