MV Kanangra Progress Update 13

10th November 2007

1. Kanangra Restoration Committee (KRC)

A meeting aboard Kanangra on Saturday 1st September at 1000hrs to put in place the structure by which the restoration of the vessel could continue. At this meeting the Terms of Reference for the KRC as approved by the SHF Board was presented to the volunteers. Interested members were asked to nominate for positions on the new KRC. The final make up of the committee is as follows:

  • CHAIRMAN / SECRETARY: Brett Smith
  • ACCOUNTS OFFICER: Peter Rozea
  • FUNDRAISING / PUBLICITY OFFICER: Vacant
  • HISTORICAL REPRESENTATIVE Geoff Eastwood
  • DECK REPRESENTATIVE: Ray Jenkinson
  • ENGINEERING REPRESENTATIVE: John Marsden (Allan Pashby in his absence)
  • ELECTRICAL REPRESTATIVE: David Logie
  • HULL / WORKSHOP REPRESENTATIVE: Andy Munns

The new KRC then met on Sat 6th October & will be holding a further meeting on Sat 1st Dec. Any members wishing contribute to the KRC please contact any of the above members who can bring your ideas / issues to the table.

As we now have the KRC up & running with meetings regularly scheduled, I have decided to merge our Kanangra Progress Updates & KRC Minutes together so to save doubling up on information. The KRC Minutes will contain the same type of progress information from the various department heads so the information being passed on will be the same. And I will still send the odd photo out as well.
