What’s On

What’s On is a list of forthcoming events at the Sydney Heritage Fleet — much curtailed over winter, as many vessels are laid up. Details and booking arrangements are below.

Heritage Shipyard Monthly Tour

Noon, usually on the first Saturday of the month. See how a traditional shipyard restores vessels from tug boats to tall ships: a guided tour of both the shipyard workshop and most of the vessels under restoration. Only $5 per person. Wear comfortable casual clothing (not white) and closed flat shoes. We regret we have no wheelchair access; nor are children under 12 allowed on site. Heritage Shipyard, James Craig Road, Rozelle Bay (map) - parking available next to shipyard. It is necessary to book. Please call Michelle on 9298 3888.

James Craig

A day sail on the magnificent 1874 barque James Craig, the only tall ship of her kind regularly carrying passengers. Departs from Wharf 7, Pirrama Rd, Pyrmont, for the offshore cruise. Morning, afternoon tea and lunch included. Special prices for families and concessions. Meet & Greet

An introduction for those who would like to see what the Fleet does and consider becoming a member or volunteer, followed by induction for those who wish to become volunteers. Each ‘Meet & Greet’ begins promptly at 10.00am in the lobby conference room of Wharf 7, Pirrama Rd, Pyrmont (map) (James Craig is moored alongside the Wharf 7 building). Meet in the lobby. Please book with Michelle on 9298 3888. The induction will take place at 1.30pm.

Fish and Ships Tours on Harman

Charter Harman for a unique half-day experience visiting the Sydney Heritage Fleet, a large collection of operational heritage ships and boats. Starting at Wharf 7, Pyrmont, your tour includes:
  • Morning tea on board the tall ship James Craig at 9.30am plus tour of the ship and of static boat and maritime engine display plus boats under restoration. Ship model and maritime art room.
  • A short cruise on the harbour aboard our restored heritage vessel Harman. Disembark at Rozelle Bay. Visit our Heritage Shipyard.
  • Hop back on board Harman for your trip to the famous Sydney Fish Markets, finishing at approximately 1.00pm. The tour ends here.

We regret that we are not able to take children under twelve.
