The Sydney Harbour Awards
were presented on Friday 3rd March on board James
Craig at the overseas passenger terminal Sydney Cove. Two Fleet members
were honoured – Barry Jones was presented with the
Community Service Award and Michael York received the Lifetime Achievement
Award. Congratulations to both members for this well deserved recognition.
The Wooden Boat Festival is on 11th &
12th of March at Wharf 7. Lady Hopetoun, Harman and Berrima will be
running trips. James Craig will be open on Saturday 11th.
Tom Mort and Morrin Grigg
will be knotting away and Gary Ferres will be
attempting to set a modern day record by building a clinker dinghy in 3 days.
And much much more!
Many thanks to all those
kind people who have given JARS for the Jam Factory. It’s really helpful as one does not have
to brew so often. Some of the bigger jars take a bit of filling – so, with nice
fruit on the market like nectarines, peaches and plums, JF has stewed the fruit
lightly then put it in the jars and sealed them tightly. It makes up about 2
serves to put on your brekkie cereal! Some will appear at Wharf 7 or down at
Heritage Shipyard and will be about $3.50 – so give it a try. Thank you
everyone who supports this effort to get John
Oxley back in the water. Betty Osborne
