The boring bit of Terms and Conditions follows:-

  • Congratulations! You have made the first step, the decision to sail with us!
  • The cost from Sydney-to-Hobart is $3,000; Hobart-to-Sydney $3,000 (which includes all meals).
  • To confirm your booking we require a 50% deposit within 7 working days.
  • The balance is required by Friday 3 December 2010.
  • Credit cards we accept, MasterCard and VISA, American Express attracts a 3% surcharge.
  • Electronic bank transfers to: National Bank, BSB: 082 401, Account Number: 50947 6896, Account Name: Sydney Maritime Museum Ltd. Reference: Your name & invoice no.
  • Cheques should be payable to 'Sydney Heritage Fleet' and posted to Wharf 7, Pirrama Road, PYRMONT NSW 2009. Reference: Your name & invoice no.
  • Cancellations made before 3 December 2010 will incur a 10% administration fee. Cancellations after this date and before 31 December will incur a forfeit fee of $500.
  • No refunds can be given if cancellation is after 31 December 2010 however, bookings are transferable to another person.
  • All monies will be refunded should the voyage be cancelled, before departure day.
  • The decision to sail is at the absolute discretion of the Master of James Craig and the Sydney Heritage Fleet and as a result sailing plans may be varied or cancelled.
  • When we have received your deposit, we will send you a passenger contract and other important paperwork for you to complete and return.
  • All passenger contract documentation must be returned to the Sydney Heritage Fleet by Monday 10 January 2011.
  • James Craig departs Wharf 7, Pyrmont, Sydney for Hobart on Thursday 3 February 2011. Passengers embark at 0800 hours. Disembark Hobart Friday 11 February 2011.
  • Passengers will board for the Hobart-Sydney voyage from 1400 hours on Tuesday 22 February 2011 at Macquarie Street Wharf, Hobart. The ship will depart for Sydney on the following morning.
  • Disembark in Sydney approximately Wednesday 2 March 2011.
  • We will send you information on what to bring, but you'll need sleeping gear, wet weather clothing suitable for offshore conditions and appropriate clothing for sailing.
  • Even the strongest stomachs can take time to get used to the motion of a large sailing ship at sea. Please bring sea sickness medication that suits you (your pharmacist or doctor can advise on appropriate medication).
  • Your meals are included in the ticket price. Some meals may be taken in the saloon with the officers, at other times you will eat with the crew.
  • James Craig is a restored 19th Century sailing ship, and there are no luxuries. Conditions will not always be pleasant if the weather is unkind. The need to conserve water may require days at sea without showers.
  • Smoking will be permitted in a designated area on the main deck. Under no circumstances is smoking permitted below decks.
  • James Craig is a Dry Ship. Carriage and consumption of alcohol will be under the direct control of the Master
