Thursday 11 February James Craig Shanty Session. 7.00 pm on board James Craig at Wharf 7 (map and transport), coinciding with the birthdays of Sandra Nixon and John Warner (John turns 60 on 16th Feb - Sandra's just a young thing.). To recognise the wonderful work these two stalwart supporters of the Craig do - Sandra as the organiser of the best folk club in Australia and John as superb song-writer - we'll give them the pleasure of requesting their favourite songs from those in attendance; and there'll be a segment when all comers can make a request of a song from John. In short - it's a "BY REQUEST" night - so expect a night of splendid chorus songs because there's nothing these two like more than songs sung in harmony. Please BRING A PLATE. The visiting clipper Stad Amsterdam

Saturday 13 February COME AND JOIN THE CREW ON TALL SHIP JAMES CRAIG TO WELCOME STAD AMSTERDAM INTO SYDNEY! The Dutch ship Stad Amsterdam is a 3 mast-clipper ship 60 meters long. She was built in 2000, combining the qualities of 19th-century clippers with present-day requirements. She is a spacious and luxurious version of the grand clippers of an era long gone. This cruise aboard Tall ship James Craig is available to members of the public. Boarding is at Wharf 7 Pirrama Road, Pyrmont at 0830 and the ship returns at 1200. Members, friends and family are welcome to book a place on Tall Ship James Craig to experience this momentous occasion. The cost per person is $60 which includes light refreshments (members & concession $54, children $40). Sorry, sold out.

Wednesday, 17 February Tall Ship Stories (re-scheduled from December). Alan Edenborough tells some real Tall stories about Ships. Anecdotes on his list include stories about Sydney Heritage Fleet vessels and escapades - names have been changed to protect the guilty! There will also be stories of incredible moments at sea drawn from many sources. And some really tall tales - it's for you to guess if they are fact or fantasy. 5:30pm for 6:00pm with tea/coffee in the Wharf 7 Conference Room. Speaker at 6:00pm, followed by dinner, a glass of wine, and chat. The price: A modest $7.50 - payable on the night (includes dinner & wine). BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL. Learn basic knots, bends, hitches, whipping and splicing, construction of traditional and modern rope, eye splicing double braided rope, splicing wire to double braided rope, making nets, repairing sails and awnings.
