10 March, 2004: "New James Craig Guide Arrangements"
Mar 10, 2004
I am pleased to announce that, effective immediately, Jackie Clark has agreed to take up the role of Volunteer Guide Coordinator. She will be responsible for:
* Guide selection, supervision and coordination of training
* Completing and advising the rosters
* Briefing guides on a daily basis as to activities on board the ship
* Guide amenities
* Guide uniforms
By taking up this important role Jackie will free up Sally Ostlund to build other programs such as broader training within the Fleet, development of education and Scout/Cub/Girl Guide programs, general OH&S education and she will continue to have a role in Volunteer recruitment through the successful “Meet & Greet” sessions which are designed to introduce potential volunteers to the Fleet and to find a “best fit” for them. She will also continue to be involved in developing Programs for AHF Members.
So, my special thanks to Jackie Clark who is taking on this task in an entirely voluntary capacity. I have assured her of my support and she will be working out of the James Craig Operations office when she is not aboard ship. Thanks too to Sally for her contribution
Jackie will also be working closely with our friends at the Australian National Maritime Museum to build visitation to the ship. In closing may I thank you all for all that you give to the ship and I know that you will give her all the support needed to continue this good work that you do
