   Wish List

Can you help?

If you can help with the supply of any of the "wish list" of items below, either from the company you work for or through your connections or, in the case for example of (say) a television set from home or point us in the right direction, the Fleet will be most grateful. Even if items can not be donated but can be bought at “mates rates” or better that will still be a help if it means we can buy things cheaper than market prices. If, in addition to the list given below (and which will be added to over time) there are things which you see the Fleet using regularly which you believe we may be able to source better, we would like to hear from you. We would also like to hear from you if there are things that you would like to see added to the “Wish List” which are necessary for our operations.

The list, as it currently stands, is as follows:
  1. Laser Printer in good condition, black ink only, network capable
  2. A cordless headset for use by our receptionist.
  3. A spiral document binder
and for use at the Heritage Shipyard,
  1. A tinnie and outboard for use as a workboat. Condition immaterial, as long as it is operational
  2. A pipe bender for 20mm and 25mm conduit, for the Electrical Department
and specifically for John Oxley,
  1. Drill press - 3 MT geared head
  2. Bolts and nuts 3/4" (200), 5/8" (3000), 1" (500) nuts and bolts (for securing plates before riveting)
  3. "G" clamps (heavy boilermakers style)
  4. Steel pipe, angle and plates, including some 22mm plate for the rudder
  5. Needle guns (10) and spare parts
  6. Borer - horizontal or vertical (at least 12 steam and pump cylinders to rebored)
  7. Hydraulic press to 100 tons - powered - (as our old 50 ton press is very tired)
  8. Pallet truck - wider frame than standard - for keel blocks
  9. Pallet truck, standard (our last one was retrieved from a scrap bin)
  10. 3" pipe bending machine
Any donations (over $2.00) to the Museum of either cash, goods, or equipment are tax deductible and potential donors might find this helpful.

If you can possibly help, please phone (02) 9298 3888 and ask to speak to Hugh Lander.

Many thanks to the following for helping with previous items from our wish list:-

  1. 14 personal computers, 2 servers and network printers, kindly donated by the Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority
  2. Large Screen TV kindly donated by John Holden
  3. DVD Player (and TV) kindly donated by Unitel
  4. Office furniture kindly donated by Commander Communications
