Sail Sydney’s Authentic Tall Ship
Experience the thrill of ocean sailing on a fully restored tall ship from the 1870s!
James Craig is the only fully restored authentic tall ship in the world that you can regularly sail on and it’s right here – in Sydney!
This amazing experience starts the moment this historic ship leaves her berth at Pyrmont. As you cruise down the harbour, take in the sights of other harbour icons – the mighty Harbour Bridge and the stunning Opera House, then wave farewell to the beautiful Sydney skyline as we make our way out through Sydney Heads to the great blue yonder.
Tailor this exciting adventure to suit your own needs. You can choose to soak up the breathtaking views and relax on board, or immerse yourself in the life of a sailor. Help the crew set and trim the sails or learn to determine the speed by streaming the log.
And for those who seek even more excitement and adventure, why not purchase a Mast Climb* and experience the thrill of being 10 metres above the deck of a tall ship whilst she is under sail. This is indeed ‘the thrill of a lifetime’ but undertaken with strict safety requirements!
Don’t forget to take a tour of James Craig and take a firsthand look at the life of a 1870s sailor crewing aboard a merchant ship. Our volunteer crew are always happy to walk you through the ship and show you below deck. Keep an eye out for the strolling minstrel with his merry songs.
Experience history in action aboard the museum that goes to sea! Tick it off your bucket list!
