Scenes and Places

There’s a marine background to every one of these  200 pix, there’s an aerial view of Sydney Cove in 1870, the Batemans Bay car punt in 1950 and merchant Robert Campbell’s home in 1850.  The first Spit Bridge is seen from the passing ferry and there’s a fine image of Hobarts’ Battery Point  about 1880.  At the Rose Bay International Airport a fuel barge prepares to top-up a Flying Boat. In Avenue Rd Mosman a large camera tripod blocks the road to the Mosman Wharf in the background – it’s 1858.  Down south a very unusual pedestrian cable punt crosses the Yarra River while a crowd strolls across the first Sydney Pyrmont Bridge.
