Courses & Training

Courses & TrainingAt the core of Sydney Heritage Fleet’s philosophy, is the hands-on concept. The Fleet is a living museum of working heritage vessels. That means retaining skills and traditions; and that also means passing them on.

The Sydney Heritage Fleet provides training for its volunteers in its workshops and on its vessels. For the wider public, the skills of the Fleet are offered in public courses, such as the very popular Rope & Rigging Course.

Our volunteers access a selection of free courses through Edway Group eg. First Aid.

In addition to this, through Edway we also offer subsidised training in the following:

National White Card (Work Safely in the Construction Industry), normally $100 but SHF members pay only $20.00
for the certificate.
Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) – Normal cost $130 – SHF Members pay $70 (for Liquor Gaming and Racing Certificate)
