Fleet Discovery Day

FJoin us for the day to find out more!

If you, or someone you know, would like to be a volunteer with the Sydney Heritage Fleet, come and find out more about this wonderful opportunity.

Held every month, the Fleet Discovery Day shows you what we do and, just as important, what you can do in the Fleet.

One of the Fleet’s heritage vessels will take you across the Harbour to the Heritage Docks & Workshop at Rozelle Bay. There, you will see the ongoing restoration of Fleet ships John Oxley and Kanangra. You will go on board some of the Fleet’s operational vessels which are berthed there to have a closer look. You will also visit the Shipyard’s workshop which houses some of the equipment used in restoration and maintenance of the Fleet’s vessels.

On your return to Wharf 7, you will have a guided tour of the 1874 barque James Craig, the Maritime Records and Research Centre, Small Boat Collection, Ship Model Workshop and the Fleet’s offices.

Finally, you will have the chance to discuss what you have seen and to ask questions of the volunteers who will be on hand to answer them. Click here to book your place
